During a recent visit to Viman Nagar and Vadgaon Sheri, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar called the Municipal Commissioner of Pune, Dr. Rajendra Bhosale straight from a meeting to address several concerns residents and society representatives raised. The visit, which was part of the ongoing ‘Jan Sanman Yatra,’ highlighted issues that have been affecting the area, particularly the increasing problem of stray dogs attacking children. During his interaction with the residents, Ajit Pawar expressed frustration over the lack of action by the local ward office. He mentioned that despite repeated complaints, no significant steps have been taken to control the stray dog menace. According to him, stray dogs in the area have been attacking children, leading to serious injuries. Residents shared photos showing the extent of the problem, with some even fearing for their children’s safety.

Residents urged authorities to take immediate action by capturing and relocating the dogs to shelters. They also demanded that necessary vaccinations be administered to prevent the situation from escalating further. In addition to the stray dog issue, concerns about illegal encroachments on footpaths and improper waste management were also raised. Additionally, there is significant traffic congestion in the area. The residents of Wadgaon Sheri presented a detailed account of these issues to Ajit Pawar. Ajit Pawar listened to all the citizens’ concerns and instructed the Municipal Commissioner to arrange a meeting with local MLA Sunil Tingre and residents to resolve the issues as soon as possible.

Ajit Pawar acknowledged the civic problems and assured the residents that their grievances would be addressed. He emphasized that the authorities must act swiftly to tackle these challenges, ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the area.
