Pune: Ajit Pawar To inspect Metro Line 3 Work On-site On September 26, Orders To Repair Roads Damaged Due To Maan Hinjawadi-Shivajinagar Metro Work
Pune, September 23: To expedite the work on Metro Line 3 between Shivajinagar and Aundh in Pune, Deputy Chief Minister and Pune Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar has directed the police to grant 24-hour permission for girder installation during public and government holidays. He emphasized that the roads beneath the integrated double-decker flyover should be well-maintained to avoid traffic congestion. Pawar also announced plans to personally inspect the metro work on September 26.
During a review of the Hinjewadi-Shivajinagar Metro Line 3 project at the Ministry today, Ajit Pawar discussed various challenges. The meeting was attended by senior officials including Additional Chief Secretary of the Finance Department O.P. Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary of the Planning Department Rajgopal Deora, Principal Secretary of the Urban Development Department Asimkumar Gupta, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Bapu Bangar, and others. Representatives from Pune Metro Line 3 companies also participated via video conference.
Pawar stressed that if the roads or drainage lines are damaged due to metro work, they must be repaired immediately, using new technology if needed. He noted that damaged roads cause severe traffic congestion and directed that road and drainage repairs be completed promptly alongside the metro work. Failure to complete these repairs on time would lead to action against the responsible companies.
Regarding the Baner and Pashan ramps, Pawar instructed the police to permit round-the-clock work on public holidays for tasks such as girder installation. He also emphasized that alternative roads used during traffic diversions should be kept in good condition.
