Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, also the District Guardian Minister, led a comprehensive inspection of the ongoing construction at Shivajinagar bus station. The examination took place during a meeting convened at the Government Rest House in Pune.

Among the attendees were MLA Siddharth Shirole, Sunil Tingre, Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao, Pune Municipal Corporation Commissioner Vikram Kumar, Mahametro Managing Director Shravan Hardikar, Pune Police Commissioner Ritesh Kumar, Collector Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh, PMRDA Commissioner Rahul Mahiwal, Chief Engineer Atul Chavan, Superintending Engineer Bappa Bahir, and other officials.

Pawar stressed the urgency for Mahametro to kickstart the essential construction using their own funds, with the state government covering the remaining expenses. He also called upon the State Transport Corporation to provide details about the required space within the building, and urged the administration to explore alternative locations for accommodating government offices.

Addressing traffic issues around Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pawar recommended exploring traffic diversion measures. Additionally, he instructed the Pune Municipal Corporation to promptly initiate repairs on the road passing through Bremen Chowk. Furthermore, he directed the redirection of two-wheeler and car traffic away from the road leading from Agriculture College to Sinchan Nagar Maidan.

Hardikar informed that the construction plan for the bus station has been received, and work at the Shivajinagar bus station is anticipated to conclude within the next two and a half years.
