Pune | February 26, 2026: An awareness drive focusing on noise pollution, hygiene, traffic discipline and civic responsibility was organised in Kalyani Nagar on Wednesday, ahead of World Hearing Day (March 3).

The programme was held at Cerebrum IT Park (B1 and B2) and was organised with the support of local representatives, including Corporator Yogesh Mulik, and community members from the area.

A key highlight of the event was the participation of Sangeeta Jadhav, Traffic Incharge of Yerwada, along with her traffic enforcement team. She addressed IT employees and office staff on issues such as:

  • Helmet compliance
  • Illegal parking
  • Modified silencers
  • Honking violations
  • Traffic rule enforcement

She assured residents and employees of strict action and regular monitoring to improve traffic discipline in the area.

As part of the World Hearing Day initiative, speakers highlighted the health risks of noise pollution, including hearing loss, stress, sleep problems, high blood pressure and long-term heart risks.

Residents raised concerns about unnecessary honking, modified silencers and late-night noise, calling noise pollution a serious public health issue, not just a daily inconvenience.

The drive also addressed civic issues such as:

  • Littering and garbage disposal
  • Hygiene around commercial spaces
  • Traffic congestion and road blockages
  • Need for better civic sense and public discipline

IT companies and employees were urged to follow traffic and noise rules, maintain cleanliness, and support responsible commuting practices.

Organisers said such awareness drives will continue, with the aim of building a cleaner, safer and healthier Kalyani Nagar through cooperation between citizens, authorities and local organisations.
