Pune: Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Solve House Break-In Case, Recover Stolen Gold Mangalsutra Worth ₹3 Lakh
Pune, June 10, 2026: The Bharati Vidyapeeth Police have successfully solved a house burglary case and recovered a stolen gold mangalsutra worth ₹3 lakh from a 20-year-old accused.
According to police, the burglary took place on June 4 between 4:23 pm and 8:10 pm at a residence located in Ambegaon Budruk, Pune. An unidentified person allegedly broke into the locked house and stole a gold mangalsutra before fleeing the scene.
Based on the complaint lodged by the victim, Bharati Vidyapeeth Police registered a case under Crime Register No. 327/2026 and launched an investigation.
During the probe, police examined CCTV footage from the area and carried out a technical analysis of the available evidence. Acting on specific leads, investigators identified the suspect as Yash alias Pandya Santosh Kuchekar (20), a resident of Padmavati, Pune.
Police subsequently tracked down and detained the accused. During questioning, officers recovered the stolen gold mangalsutra valued at approximately ₹3 lakh from his possession.
Further investigation in the case is being conducted by Police Sub-Inspector Nilesh Mokashi.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) Milind Mohite and Assistant Commissioner of Police Rahul Aware. The detection team included Senior Police Inspector Manasingh Patil, Police Inspector (Crime) Kailas Kodag, PSI Nilesh Mokashi and other officers and staff of Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station.
Police officials said the swift detection of the case was made possible through a combination of CCTV analysis, technical investigation and prompt field action by the crime detection team.
