Pune: BPCL Gas Distributor In Hinjawadi Suspended For Violating Distribution Norms
Pune, March 28, 2026: The district administration has ordered the immediate suspension of supply and distribution operations of M/s Shree Laxmi Bharat Gas agency in Hinjawadi for violating government norms related to LPG cylinder distribution.
As per directives issued by District Collector Jitendra Dudi, the agency’s license is being suspended with immediate effect following serious irregularities.
According to information from the District Supply Office, the agency holds an authorized license from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to sell commercial LPG cylinders. However, during a distribution drive on March 26, 2026, the agency allegedly failed to follow the prescribed priority guidelines and supplied cylinders to unauthorized and unregistered individuals.
Authorities also found that cylinders were being sold at inflated prices with the intent of earning excess profit.
Officials noted that such actions could create confusion among citizens regarding LPG availability and potentially lead to law and order issues. Considering the seriousness of the violations, the district administration initiated immediate action against the agency.
District Supply Officer Mahesh Sudhalakar has directed BPCL to ensure prompt implementation of the suspension order and submit a compliance report at the earliest.
