Pune Braces for Continued Heatwave; Temperatures May Touch 43°C
IMD predicts clear skies and rising temperatures across city and nearby areas till May 4
Pune and its surrounding regions are set to experience continued hot weather over the next few days, with clear skies contributing to rising daytime temperatures, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Between April 29 and May 4, maximum temperatures across the district are expected to range from 38°C to 43°C. Lohegaon is likely to remain the hottest area, with temperatures forecast to reach 41°C on April 29 and climb up to 43°C by May 3 and 4.
In Pune city, temperatures are expected to stay around 39°C on April 29 and 30, gradually increasing to 40°C on May 1 and 2, and reaching 41°C by May 3 and 4. Night temperatures will remain relatively stable between 22°C and 24°C.
Chinchwad is also expected to see hot conditions, with daytime temperatures ranging between 39°C and 41°C. Koregaon Park may experience slightly higher heat, with temperatures likely between 40°C and 42°C, while nights could remain warmer at 25°C to 27°C.
Relatively cooler conditions are expected in areas like Pashan and Lavale, where temperatures may stay between 38°C and 41°C. Minimum temperatures in these locations are likely to range from 21°C to 27°C.
Magarpatta and NDA areas are forecast to record maximum temperatures between 38°C and 40°C, with cooler nights ranging from 20°C to 22°C.
With clear skies expected throughout the week, heat levels are likely to rise further during the day. Authorities have advised residents to limit outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours and stay well hydrated.
