In a disturbing incident, a shopkeeper on the Pimpri-Chinchwad link road has been accused of brutally beating a puppy with an iron rod. The distressing event unfolded in front of Gupta Traders (Pimpri) shop at 5:30 pm on Thursday, the 18th.
The accused in this heart-wrenching case is identified as Gupta, against whom a formal complaint has been lodged by Hitesh Jaipal Kundnani, a 34-year-old resident of Pimpri, at the Pimpri police station.
According to the police report, Gupta resorted to violence against the innocent puppy as it frequented the premises in front of his shop. Allegedly, he used an iron rod to beat the defenseless animal, forcing it out of the shop and onto the roadside. The puppy sustained severe injuries due to the brutal assault and has since been admitted to an animal hospital for treatment.
The Pimpri police have initiated an investigation into the matter, aiming to bring the perpetrator to justice and ensure the safety and well-being of animals in the area. The incident has sparked widespread outrage and calls for stricter measures to prevent cruelty against animals.
