Pune: Burglars Steal 500 gm of Gold and 4.5 kg of Silver from Salisbury Park
Burglars stole 500 gm of gold and 4.5 kg of silver ornaments from an apartment in the upscale Salisbury Park area on December 18. The theft occurred between 1.30 pm and 2.50 pm, according to the FIR registered at Swargate police station.
A 57-year-old woman lodged the complaint on December 19. She resides in the apartment at Marble House with her husband, son, and daughter. All family members have their own set of house keys.
On the morning of December 18, the husband and son left for work. Later, the complainant and her daughter planned to visit Mukund Nagar. Before leaving, the complainant realized her husband had forgotten his keys at home and might return for lunch. She locked the door and placed the key in a shoe rack near the entrance.
The mother-daughter duo left at 1.30 pm, informing the husband about the key’s location. When they returned at 2.50 pm, they found the bedroom cupboard open and the ornaments missing.
The family searched the house but couldn’t locate the stolen items. The complainant immediately informed her husband and reported the incident to the police.
Police have booked unidentified burglars under Sections 305 and 331(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. A team inspected the crime scene and is reviewing CCTV footage from the apartment and nearby areas to identify the accused.
The investigation is underway, and police have assured efforts to nab the culprits. Residents are advised to remain vigilant and secure their premises.
