Pune Businessman Ashok Milapchand Jain Found Dead in Apte Road Hotel Room
Pune, May 12: A 61-year-old businessman, Ashok Milapchand Jain, was found dead in a hotel room on Apte Road, Pune. Police are investigating the possibility that the businessman may have died by suicide after consuming a poisonous substance. The hotel staff reported the police on Saturday night after the occupant of the room was unresponsive for a long time.
According to police officials, Ashok Milapchand Jain, a resident of Lota Park, Salisbury Park, Gultekdi, left his residence on Friday afternoon. His family approached the Swargate Police Station to file a missing person complaint after he did not return home until late evening and could not be contacted.
Meanwhile, on Saturday afternoon, the hotel staff members on Apte Road reported to the Deccan Police Station about the unusual activity of the guest staying in one of the hotel rooms, who was not responding despite repeated attempts to contact him.
When the police personnel reached the hotel and opened the door of the room, the occupant was found unconscious. They confirmed his identity, and was immediately taken to the hospital. The doctors had announced him dead before the treatment could begin.
Initial investigations suggest that Ashok might have consumed some poisonous substance. The police officials have stated the suicide is suspect. The real cause of death will be confirmed after the postmortem examination report is received.
The case has currently been registered, following up with an investigation. The Senior Police Inspector Girish Nibalkar from Deccan Police Station stated that “the real cause of death will become clear once the forensic and medical reports are examined.”
The news has sparked concerns among the local residents and business community of Ashok’s sudden death, while the police continue to investigate the circumstances leading to Jain’s death.
