Pune: Car Plunges 100 Meters into Gorge at Pasarni Ghat – Two Dead, Two Seriously Injured
Pasarni Ghat witnessed a tragic accident on Thursday evening when a speeding car lost control and plunged 100 meters into a gorge, resulting in the death of two young men from Loni Kalbhor and leaving two others seriously injured.
The deceased have been identified as Akshay Mhaske Kalbhor (26) and Saurabh Jalindar Kalbhor (26). The injured, Vaibhav Kalbhor and Bajrang Parvatrao (35), were rushed to a private hospital in Wai (Satara district) for urgent medical treatment.
The four friends had embarked on a trip to Konkan two days earlier and were returning home when the accident occurred near Buvasaheb Temple in Pasarni Ghat. The steep terrain and the driver’s failure to control the vehicle on the slope contributed to the crash.
Emergency response teams, including the Shiv Sahyadri Rescue Team from Siddhanathwadi, Wai, and local police, quickly arrived at the scene. Rescuers used ropes to pull out the injured, while the accident caused significant traffic congestion in the area.
Senior police officials, including Deputy Superintendent Balakrishna Bhalchim and Inspector Jitendra Shahane, visited the site to oversee rescue operations and manage traffic flow.
