Pune Celebrates 350th Coronation Day of Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj with Rare Photographs & Weapons Exhibition at Maxima Society in Wakad
On the occasion of the 350th coronation day of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, an impressive exhibition showcasing rare photographs captured by Durg Maharshi Pramodbhau Mande, Shivkaalin coins, and weapons was organized by Dongaryatra Adventure Club. The event took place at Maxima Society Wakad, Pune, from 5 PM to 10 PM on June 6, 2023.
People of all ages enthusiastically attended the exhibition and expressed their admiration for the displayed works. Dattatray Deshmukh, President of Maxima Society Wakad & Pimpri Chinchwad Cooperation Housing Society Federation, highlighted the significance of the event, stating, “About 350 years ago, Shivaji Bhosale, who took an oath at the age of 16 to establish Swarajya, was crowned ‘Chhatrapati’ Shivaji Maharaj on June 6, 1674, in a grand ceremony at Raigad. Every year, the Shiva Rajyabhishek ceremony is celebrated at Raigad with great enthusiasm. This year, we celebrated the Shiva Rajyabhishek Day ceremony for the first time in our Maxima Society, offering everyone the opportunity to witness the Shivkaalin coins, weapons, and photographs.”
The exhibition featured over 300 photographs of forts accompanied by informative details, as well as rare coins and weapons. The event saw the presence of notable individuals, including Durga Maharshi Pramodbhau Mande’s close friend Rajubhau Dongre, former corporator of Wakad Rahul Kalate, Chairman, Pimpri Chinchwad Housing Societies Federation Dattatray Deshmukh, History Researcher Damodar Magdoom, history researcher Anil Dudhane, Shiva period Shastra collector Santosh Chandane, history scholar Nilesh Gawde sir, Manoj Kakade, Jaywant Phalke, and Anil Shelar.
