Palkhi in Pune : Traffic Diverted for Shri Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Shri Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi Processions

In preparation for the highly anticipated Shri Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Shri Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi celebrations, significant traffic diversions have been introduced in the Pune district.

To ensure a smooth flow of the Palkhi processions, Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh, the Pune District Collector, has urged the public to make use of alternative routes during the designated period of traffic alterations.

For the Palkhi procession of Shri Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj, the route from Pune Rural to Pandharpur will traverse via Pune-Saswad-Lonand. Similarly, the Palkhi of Sant Tukaram Maharaj will journey from Pune to Solapur via Ghat, passing through Baramati Indapur, and ultimately reaching Pandharpur via Akluj. These routes will witness traffic diversions from June 14th to June 18th for the Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi Festival, and from June 15th to June 24th for the Shri Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi Festival. Dr. Deshmukh, the Collector, has issued instructions to enforce these traffic changes and has released traffic regulation orders for the specified period.

Traffic Modifications for Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi Route:

Pune to Saswad (Saswad stay) – From 2 pm on June 14 to 12 pm on June 16, traffic from Pune to Saswad via Dive Ghat and Bopdev Ghat will be completely suspended. During this period, traffic will be rerouted via Khadimachine Chowk – Katraj – Kapurhol. All traffic originating from the Saswad side will be directed to Pune via Garade-Khed Shivapur.

Saswad to Jejuri (Jejuri stay) and Jejuri to Valhe (Walhe stay) – Commuters traveling from Pune to Saswad-Jejuri-Valhe-Nira should use the Nira to Pune route through Zendevadi-Pargaon Memane-Supe-Morgaon-Neera from 2 pm on June 16 to 12 pm on June 17.

Valhe to Lonand (Lonand stay) – From 2 am to 5 pm on June 18, vehicles traveling from Pune to Saswad-Jejuri-Valhe-Nira and from Nira to Pune should take the alternative route via Saswad-Jejuri-Morgaon.

Lonand onwards via Phaltan – Traffic coming from Phaltan-Lonand to Pune and from Pune to Phaltan-Lonand will be rerouted via Shirwal from June 16 to 18.

Alternate Traffic Routes for Shri Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi Marg:

Lonikalbhor to Yawat (Yawat stay) – From 2 am to 12 pm on June 15, vehicles traveling from Pune to Solapur should use the Wagholi-Kesanand-Rahu-Pargaon-Chaufula route. Similarly, traffic coming from Solapur to Pune will be redirected through the Chauphula-Pargaon-Rahu-Kesanand-Wagholi route.

Yawat to Varwand (Varwand stay) – Between 2 am and 12 pm on June 16, vehicles heading from Pune to Solapur should follow the Theur Phata-Kesanand-Rahu-Pargaon-Nhavre-Kashti-Daund-Kurkumbh route. Vehicles coming from Solapur to Pune will be directed to take the Kurkumbh-Daund-Kashti-Nhaware-Pargaon-Rahu-Kesanand-Wagholi route.

Varwand to Undavadi, Baramati (stay Undavadi) – On June 17, from 2 am to 12 pm, vehicles traveling from Pune to Solapur should follow the Chauphula-Pargaon-Nhavre-Kashti-Daund-Kurkumbh route. Traffic heading from Solapur to Pune will be diverted via the Kurkumbh-Daund-Kashti-Nhaware-Pargaon-Chaufula-Wagholi-Pune route.

Undavadi to Baramati (Baramati stay) – The Baramati to Patas and Baramati to Daund roads will be closed from 2 am to 12 pm on June 18. Traffic will be redirected to Baramati via Bhigwan. Those traveling from Baramati will use the Bhigwan-Solapur-Pune highway to reach their destination.

Baramati to Sansar (Sansar stay) – The junction to Baramati road will be closed to traffic on June 19, from 2 am to 12 pm. Vehicles coming from Walchandnagar and Indapur will be diverted to Baramati-Ashti via Kalas from the junction. Traffic from Baramati to other locations will move towards the Kalas Junction via Bhigwan.

Sansar to Anthurne (Anthurne stay) and Anthurne to Nimgaon Ketki (Nimgaon Ketki stay) – From 2 am on June 20 to 12 pm on June 22, vehicles traveling from Baramati to Indapur will have two alternative routes: Baramati-Kalamb-Bawda-Indapur or Baramati-Bhigwan-Indapur. Likewise, vehicles going from Indapur to Baramati will follow the routes Indapur-Bawda-Kalamb-Baramati or Indapur-Bhigwan-Baramati.

Nimgaon Ketki to Indapur (Indapur Stay) – Traffic from Nimgaon Ketki to Indapur will be closed from 2 am to 12 pm on June 22. Vehicles traveling from Indapur to Baramati will be directed to take the Loni Deokar-Kalas Junction or Loni-Deokar-Bhigwan route to reach Baramati.

Indapur – From 4 am to 8 pm on June 23, traffic from Akluj to Baramati will be rerouted via Akluj-Bawda-Natepute. The Indapur main highway should be used to travel to Baramati and Pune from Akluj. The Old Pune-Solapur road in Indapur city will be closed for traffic, with diversions from Malojiraje Chowk to Mahatma Phule Chowk via the bypass.

Indapur to Sarati (Sarati Mukkam) – Traffic on the Indapur to Akluj road will be completely closed on June 24 from 2 AM to 12 PM and on June 25 from 2 AM to 12 PM. The traffic on this route will be redirected through Indapur-Hingangaon-Temburni-Ganeshgaon-Malinagar-Akluj. Vehicles on the Akluj to Indapur route will go via Akluj-Natepute-Walchandnagar-Junction-Bhigwan.
