Wagholi, Urulikanchan, and several nearby villages are currently grappling with power cuts as a result of technical issues encountered by Mahapareshan’s Lonikand to Karad 400 KV high voltage power line. To address the situation, temporary load shedding has been implemented in the affected areas.

On Wednesday morning, temporary power cuts were enforced in Uruli Kanchan, Wagholi, Perne, and their neighboring regions due to a technical malfunction in Mahapareshan’s 400 KV power line, which runs from Lonikand to Karad.

Further details indicate that the power line is responsible for transmitting electricity generated from Koyna Stage 4, with Karad serving as the intermediary between Lonikand.

Unfortunately, the technical failure disrupted the transmission of approximately 50 to 60 MW of power supplied to the Pune circle. In order to mitigate the shortage, temporary power regulation has been implemented for approximately one and a half hours, starting from 9:30 am, affecting villages such as Urlikanchan, Wagholi, Kesnand, Perne, Sartapwadi, Koregaon Mool, Wadebolhai, Ashtapur, Naigaon, and others. Repair work on Mahapareshan’s power line is expected to be completed by 5:30 pm, after which the temporary load shedding in these villages will be lifted.
