Pune: Chandrakant Patil Demands Swift Action On City’s Missing Road Link Projects
Pune: Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil took an aggressive stance during a review meeting at the Pune Municipal Corporation regarding land acquisition for critical “missing link” road projects. Patil declared that he would “chase like a ghost” until these road projects are completed to ease Pune’s growing traffic congestion.
The review focused on:
- Widening of Rajput Brick Kiln Road in Erandwane
- A road connecting Eklavya College to Chandni Chowk highway
- The Shivane-Kharadi Road
- Baner-Balewadi Road’s incomplete stretches
Patil instructed municipal officers to expedite land acquisition by engaging directly with landowners. He highlighted that key infrastructure like the Balewadi-Wakad flyover is nearly complete but pending approach roadwork is stalling traffic relief for areas like Baner, Aundh, and Pashan.
He warned, “Until these missing links are connected, I will relentlessly follow up like a ghost.”
