Pune : Chief Minister Eknath Shinde flags off e-Shivneri bus from Thane to Pune

The first electric Shivneri AC bus began its journey from Thane depot to Pune on Monday, May 1 as chief minister Eknath Shinde flagged off the bus in Thane. As per information, eight buses will operate from Thane to Pune. The estimated fare for the route is fixed at Rs 515 for men and Rs 275 for women passengers.

Soon, buses will become operational from Dadar soon as the electric buses charging stations are installed at the Dadar bus stand too. The e-bus can travel upto 250 kms when fully charged. The electric bus will have unique aspects of technology such as ABS with Disc brake, CCTV cameras, Real time tracking system, adequate space for luggage storage, USB connections, push back seats with seat belts and advanced vehicle management system.

Eknath Shinde also launched the Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray Sundar Bus Sthanak Abhiyan (Clean Bus Depot Campaign) in which 580 bus stands will compete with each other. The bus depots will compete in the categories, upgrading their premises, clean toilets, canteens and passenger waiting area.
