Pune : Completion of India’s first cable stayed Anji Khad rail bridge receives appreciation from PM Narendra Modi

The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has praised the completion of Anji Khad bridge, India’s first cable-stayed rail bridge. The bridge was completed in 11 months and the total length of cable strand used in the bridge is 653 km. Replying to a tweet by the Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Prime Minister tweeted : “Excellent”.

This new bridge is being dubbed as an engineering marvel as it is one of the biggest railway projects on top of a mountain. The 725m bridge is held approximately 331m above the Anji River by a total of 96 cables. Though not the entire bridge is cable-stayed, a whopping 473 m of the bridge is. The Anji Khad Bridge is located approximately 80 kms from the Union Territory of Jammu.
