Pune Children’s Book Fair To Host Free Cultural Fest For Kids, Parents, And Teachers From May 22
Pune – To spark reading interest among children during the summer holidays and introduce them to history, art, literature, and culture in a fun and interactive way, the Pune Children’s Book Fair will be held from May 22 to 25 at Ganesh Kala Krida Manch, Swargate. The fair will feature a variety of free events, workshops, and exhibitions designed not only for children but also for parents and teachers.
Announcing the initiative at a press conference, Rajesh Pande, Trustee of the National Book Trust and Chief Organizer of the Pune Book Festival, said the fair is jointly organized by the National Book Trust, Pune Book Festival, Pune Municipal Corporation, and Samvad Pune.
“The fair aims to turn reading into an enjoyable habit while helping children develop writing and comprehension skills through cultural exposure. The initiative will unfold the emotional world of children through creative programs,” Pande said. PMC Commissioner Dr. Rajendra Bhosale and cultural officials Sunil Ballal and Rajesh Kamathe have extended their support to the event.

All these activities will be completely free. Visitors can also enjoy a vibrant food court and traditional games corner with classics like lagori, sagargote, vitti-dandu, and tyre races under the ‘Apale Angan’ segment.
A special workshop on aeronautics will teach kids to build model planes and craft science toys, while the ‘Mavla Khel’ will bring history alive through field games inspired by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and the Maratha empire.
The fair will also host a multilingual children’s literature exhibition for parents and teachers, recognizing their crucial role in shaping young minds.
