Pune: Chinchwad Gets 20-Lakh-Liter Water Tank To Boost Supply In Key Areas
Pimpri, March 8, 2025: To address the long-standing demand for a steady water supply in Chinchwad, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has built a new 20-lakh-liter water tank. This initiative aims to provide clean water and ensure a well-planned distribution system for residents. MLA Shankar Jagtap, who inaugurated the tank, emphasized the need for continued planning to maintain smooth water supply across the city.
The tank, located near the old Elpro company in Chinchwad, was inaugurated by MLA Shankar Jagtap in the presence of senior officials, including Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale Patil, former Mayor Aparna Doke, Chief Engineer Pramod Ombhase, and several other civic representatives and social workers.
During the event, MLA Jagtap highlighted that the new tank would significantly aid in stabilizing water supply in multiple areas of Chinchwad. He also urged the municipal authorities to consider the growing population while planning future water supply projects. On the occasion of International Women’s Day, he extended his best wishes to women across the city.

Additionally, the event recognized and felicitated Junior Engineers Sadhana Thombre and Priti Kasar from the PCMC water supply department, along with contractor J.D. Khandeshe, for their contributions to the project.
With summer approaching, Additional Commissioner Jambhale Patil stressed the importance of water conservation and noted that the new tank would improve supply in areas such as Sudarshannagar, Tanaji Nagar, Keshavnagar, Shridhar Nagar, and Chinchwad village.
The event was led by Executive Engineer Vijay Sonawane, with compering by Prafulla Puranik and a vote of thanks by Pravin Dhumal.
