Bhugaon, Pune: The River Restoration Drive has resumed this year in the Bhugaon-Bhukum area, powered by citizen contributions. This initiative is led by Adv. Krunnal Gharre and Anil Karanjawane, who have been tirelessly working for several years to restore the river, one stretch at a time.
This year, the goal is ambitious—to initiate and complete at least 50% of the River Restoration Drive (RFD) work for the Bhugaon stretch. The vision is to restore the river to its natural beauty, creating an environment where both nature and the community flourish together.

By taking up this responsibility, citizens hope to set an example for the authorities—demonstrating how an effective river restoration project should be carried out. The focus is not just on cleaning but on reviving the ecosystem, ensuring the river becomes a source of life and inspiration for everyone.
Gharre said, “We urge more people to join this noble cause and contribute towards protecting and rejuvenating our natural water bodies.”
