Pune, April 14, 2026: In a major step toward improving urban infrastructure, the Pune Parivartan Committee held its second review meeting on Monday, focusing on accelerating land acquisition, removing encroachments, and completing long-pending road link projects across Pune. The meeting was chaired by Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram and District Collector Jitendra Dudi, and attended by officials from multiple departments, including police, the Pune Municipal Corporation, forest authorities, and Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited.

Officials reviewed progress on previously identified priorities and outlined an action plan for the coming months, aiming to implement visible improvements within a year. A key focus of the discussions was resolving land acquisition challenges linked to 12 crucial “missing link” road projects.

Among the priority corridors discussed were routes connecting Baner to Pashan, Wakad to Kaspate Vasti, Ambedkar Chowk to Rajaram Bridge, and the stretch from Warje to Tirupati Nagar. Authorities emphasized the need to clear administrative and legal hurdles to speed up these developments.

The committee also approved a proposal by MSEDCL to redesign and relocate power feeders along footpaths on 32 major roads, aiming to improve safety and streamline infrastructure.

Additionally, civic departments have been directed to develop at least one fully equipped road in each newly merged village, with support from the police where required. Law enforcement authorities have assured cooperation, including issuing necessary clearances for road-related work.

The district administration has also prioritized the identification and survey of government-owned land and instructed proper demarcation of auto-rickshaw stands to improve traffic management.

The initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance mobility, reduce bottlenecks, and modernize Pune’s urban infrastructure.
