Pune : Cocaine and M.D. Worth 46 Lakhs Seized in Mundhwa; Four Arrested
In a significant operation, the Anti-Narcotics Squad 1 of the Pune Police Crime Branch apprehended four individuals and confiscated cocaine and M.D. drugs valued at a staggering 46 lakh 59 thousand rupees.
The arrests were made following an incident on August 14 at Lonkar Vasti, in Mundhwa where an acquaintance was shot by one of the accused along with a woman.
The apprehended individuals have been identified as Sagar Kailas Bhosle (26), Ajit Singh Indrajit Singh Bhawania (40), Imreen Gary Green (37), and an unnamed woman. Acting on a tip-off about a substantial cocaine trade, the police initiated an operation and successfully trapped Sagar Bhosle and the woman. The confiscated haul, totaling 44 lakh 11 thousand rupees, included 208 grams of 950 mg of Mephedrone (M.D.) and 05 grams of 550 mg of Cocaine.
An FIR has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the NPDS Act, specifically Sections 8 (c), 21 (b), 22 (c), and 29 of the act. The accused have been remanded to police custody until August 18.
Further investigations led to the arrest of Ajit Singh and Imreen, with the seizure of additional contraband valued at Rs 2 lakh 48 thousand, including 4 grams of Cocaine, 71 grams of drugs, and mobile phones. The Mundhwa police are continuing their probe into the matter.
