Pune Collector Announces Special Voter List Revision Program

Pune, 8 June : In accordance with the directives of the Election Commission of India, a special brief revision program for the Photo Electoral Roll based on the eligibility date of January 1, 2024, has been announced.

The program, which will run from June 1, 2023, to October 16, 2023, includes various pre-audit activities. These activities involve streamlining polling stations, verifying and eliminating duplications, rectifying logical errors, obtaining standardized photographs for the voter list, and correcting sections and parts as necessary. A time-bound plan will be devised to address discrepancies by identifying and verifying the list of polling stations through the redrawal of boundaries.

From September 30 to October 16, 2023, a supplementary and consolidated electoral list will be prepared based on the qualifying date of January 1, 2024.

The consolidated form of the electoral list will be released on October 17, 2023. The period for accepting claims and objections will be from October 17 to November 30, 2023. A special campaign will be conducted on two designated Saturdays and Sundays, as determined by the Chief Electoral Officer, to facilitate the submission of claims and objections.

The settlement of claims and objections will be completed by December 26, 2023. The Collector and District Election Officer, Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh, has informed that the final publication of the voter list will take place on January 5, 2024.

This special brief revision program aims to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the voter list by addressing any discrepancies and incorporating necessary updates. It highlights the commitment of Pune to maintain a transparent and reliable electoral process.
