Pune: Congress Candidate Files Nomination For Corporator From Ward 18 Wanowrie–Salunke Vihar
Pune, December 29, 2025: Beginning the electoral journey with prayers and seeking divine blessings, Congress Party candidates on Monday filed the nomination for the post from Wanowrie–Salunke Vihar, Ward No. 18 in the Pune Municipal Corporation elections 2026. Before submitting the nomination, the candidate visited Wanowrie village’s presiding deity Shri Kalbhairavnath Maharaj, Adishakti Tuljabhavani, and the Shri Ganesh Temple at Jagtap Chowk—places closely associated with the start of their social and public service work.
Candidates Prashant Sudamrao Jagtap, Ratnaprabha Sudamrao Jagtap, Sahil Shivajirao Kedari, and Sharmila Prafull Jambhulkar also filed their nomination papers, marking a collective show of strength and unity from the Congress Party in the ward.
Speaking on the occasion, the candidate expressed gratitude towards the residents of Wanowrie and Salunke Vihar for their continued love, support, and blessings over the years.
Emphasising a commitment to grassroots work, the candidate stated that efforts have always been made to live up to the trust reposed by citizens by working sincerely as a dedicated party worker rather than merely as a political representative.
The candidate highlighted key areas of focus, including improvement of basic infrastructure, environmental conservation, and the promotion of art, sports, literature, and education within the ward. Stressing the need for inclusive and sustainable development, it was reiterated that consistent efforts have been undertaken to address civic issues and enhance the overall quality of life for residents.
With the upcoming municipal elections, the Congress candidate assured voters that, if elected, the same dedication and people-centric approach would continue in the future as well. The nomination filing signals the formal start of the campaign in Ward No. 18, with the party aiming to strengthen its connect with local residents and address long-pending civic concerns in Wanowrie and Salunke Vihar.
