Pune, March 9, 2026: The Anti-Human Trafficking Cell (AHTC) of the Crime Branch of Pune Police conducted a raid at a spa in Kondhwa and rescued four women allegedly forced into prostitution. One woman has been arrested in connection with the case.

According to Pune City Police, the action was taken on March 7, 2026, following a confidential tip-off that illegal prostitution was being carried out under the guise of a spa massage service at “Opal Spa and Salon” located in the Sunshree Woods Commercial Premises building in NIBM, Kondhwa.

Acting on the information, the Anti-Human Trafficking Cell, under the guidance of Police Inspector Chhagan Kapse, conducted a verification operation using a decoy customer. After confirming the illegal activities, the police team carried out a sudden raid at the premises.

During the raid, police rescued four victimized women who were allegedly brought to the spa for prostitution. A woman identified as T. Zunchumbini Thamphiyolotha Khitan (32), working as the spa manager and originally from Nagaland, was arrested. Police are also searching for a male accused believed to be involved in the operation.

A case has been registered at Kondhwa Police Station under Crime Register No. 159/2026 under relevant sections of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Pankaj Deshmukh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Nikhil Pingale, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime-3) Shankar Khatke.

The team included PSI Vishant Chavan, police personnel Dattaram Jadhav, Babanrao Kedar, Bhujbal, Avinash Konde, and woman constable Khedekar.
