Pune, May 28, 2026: Pune Police’s Crime Branch busted an alleged sex racket operating from a service apartment in the upscale Koregaon Park area and rescued four foreign women during a raid conducted on Tuesday.
The operation was carried out by the Anti-Human Trafficking Cell (AHTC) of the Pune City Crime Branch after officials received specific information about illegal prostitution activities being conducted from a flat at Abhibha Stay in Liberty Society Phase 2 on North Main Road, Koregaon Park.
According to police officials, a decoy customer was first sent to the premises to verify the information. After confirmation, the AHTC team raided the apartment and detained four Kenyan nationals allegedly involved in running the prostitution racket.
During the operation, police rescued four foreign women from the premises. The women were later shifted to a safe shelter for counselling and completion of legal formalities.
Police have registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956. Preliminary investigations suggest that the racket was being operated through an organised network that arranged clients and managed activities from the rented apartment.
Officials said further investigation is underway to determine possible interstate and international links connected to the racket. Police have also indicated that more arrests may follow in the case.
