Pune Crime Branch Seizes Drugs Worth ₹25.5 Lakh, Four Arrested

In a major crackdown under “Mission Zero Tolerance of Drugs,” the Pune Crime Branch seized drugs worth ₹25.5 lakh and arrested four individuals in three separate operations carried out by the Anti-Drug Squads 1 and 2. The seized substances include methamphetamine and cannabis.

The arrested individuals are Kumail Mohammad Tamboli (28) from Dhanori, Saifan alias Shafiq Ismail Sheikh (52) from Market Yard, and Kiran Bhausaheb Tujare (24) from Wagholi. Tamboli was caught near Sant Nagar on the Lohgaon-Wagholi road with 83 grams of methamphetamine valued at ₹19.17 lakh. An FIR under sections 8(c) and 21(c) of the NDPS Act has been filed against him at the Airport Police Station.

In a separate operation, Saifan Sheikh was apprehended from Anand Nagar on Bibvewadi Road with 350 grams of cannabis worth ₹7,000. He has been booked under sections 8(c) and 20(b)(ii)(a) of the NDPS Act at Market Yard Police Station.

Meanwhile, Kiran Tujare was caught near Shree Krishna Hotel Chowk with 30.35 grams of methamphetamine valued at ₹6.27 lakh. A case under sections 8(c) and 22(b) of the NDPS Act has been registered at the Airport Police Station.

These operations were conducted under the guidance of Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, DCP Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Additional CP (Crime) Shailesh Balkawade, and DCP (Crime) Nikhil Pingale, with the efforts of Inspectors Ulhas Kadam and Sudarshan Gaikwad.
