Pune: Devotees Celebrate Annual Jagannath Rath Yatra with Devotion and Joy on Nyati Estate Road In Mohamadwadi
Nyati Estate Road came alive with the joyous chants of “Jai Jagannath” as hundreds of devotees gathered for the annual Jagannath Rath Yatra yesterday. The event, organized by the Undri Gita Rahasya team of ISKCON Pune, was a vibrant display of devotion and community spirit. This programme is being held in the area for the last five years and has been gaining much popularity from the devotees. The grand celebration is much appreciated by the residents.
The significance of the Rath Yatra is rooted in the Narada Purana (Uttara Kanda), where the sage Narada Muni explains:
Rathe ca vamanam drstva।
punar janma na vidyate।।
Simply by seeing Lord Jagannath on the chariot, one progresses spiritually, halting the cycle of birth and death. The festival commenced with a short aarti, followed by devotees enthusiastically pulling the Rath while chanting and dancing in praise of Lord Jagannath, Baladev, and their sister Subhadra.
The yatra concluded with a heartfelt aarti and distribution of prasadam to all attendees, leaving everyone with a sense of fulfillment and divine connection.
