Pune: A significant boost to infrastructure in Maharashtra’s Pune district is on the horizon as ₹2,349.32 crore has been approved for the widening, reconstruction, and upgrading of two critical sections of National Highway 60. These sections include the Bhimashankar-Taleghar-Wada-Rajgurunagar and Junnar-Ghodegaon-Taleghar stretches, which will be expanded from intermediate lanes with paved shoulders to full two-lane configurations.

Key landmarks along these routes include the renowned Bhimashankar Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, and the historic Shivneri Fort, the birthplace of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj near Junnar. The upgraded roads are expected to significantly improve access to these heritage sites, enhancing tourism and convenience for devotees and visitors.

Additionally, the project will enhance connectivity to other notable locations such as the Ozar Ganesh Temple, one of the Ashtavinayak temples, the Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary, Dimbhe Dam, and Chas Kaman Dam.
