Pune Division closed 11 Level Crossing gates from April 2023 to enhance safe operation of trains
Pune division carried out several important Safety works from April 2023 to till date. Closing of level crossing gates is one of the very important items for safe operation of the trains.
Level crossing gates are being gradually closed down over Pune Division either by construction of Road Over Bridges (ROB) , Road Under Bridges (RUB) and Limited Height Subways (LHS). Closing of level crossing gates helps maintain better punctuality and increases safety.
From April 2023 to till date so far 11 level crossing gates closed on the Pune Division.
Details are as under.
(1)Level crossing gate No.*8* between Pune- Miraj is closed from 03/1/2024
(2)Level crossing gate No.*117* between Pune- Miraj is closed from 02/1/2024
(3) Level crossing gate No.*108 & 81* between Pune- Miraj & *16* between Pune- Daund along with gate No. *20* between Miraj – Kolhapur are closed in December 2023
(4) Level crossing gate No.*130* between Pune- Miraj is closed in October 2023.
(5) Level crossing gate No.*23* between Pune- Miraj is closed in September 2023.
(6) Level crossing gate No.*14* between Pune- Daund is closed in May 2023.
(7) Level crossing gate No.*28* & *70* between Pune- Miraj are closed in April 2023.
Besides Railway Board’s Safety Drives, Head Quarter’s Ambush checks, Divisional Safety Drives are also conducted in addition to Divisional Safety Audit. In addition, Safety Seminars/Camps and Safety Meetings/Counselling sessions are also conducted which were attended by large no of employees.
These measures taken by Pune division go a long way in enhance safe operation of trains.
