Pune: Double-Decker Flyover to be Constructed Directly Till Ramwadi , Grade Separator approved at Shastrinagar Chowk

The efforts of MLA Sunil Tingre, who has been consistently pursuing to solve the traffic congestion on the city roads, have finally succeeded. A decision was taken in a meeting presided over by Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar to construct a double-decker flyover on Nagar Road through the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) which will now directly go to Ramwadi instead of Wagholi, and to construct a flyover and grade separator through Pune Municipal Corporation at Shastrinagar Chowk.

As per further information shared by Vadgaon Sheri MLA Sunil Tingre, in the Nagpur winter session, the MLA of Vadgaon Sheri, Sunil Tingre, demanded a meeting to make the Nagar Road signal-free. A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Pune District Guardian Minister & Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar on Saturday (23rd December).

Industries Minister Uday Samant, MLA Sunil Tingre, Commissioner Vikram Kumar, Pune Collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh, PMC Additional Commissioner Vikas Dhakane, Senior NHAI Officer Abhijit Awte etc were present in this meeting. In this meeting, a double-decker flyover is proposed from Shirur to Wagholi through NHAI to break the traffic jam on city roads. However, it was decided to erect the double-decker flyover directly till Vimannagar-Ramwadi. Accordingly, instructions were given to NHAI that a detailed project plan for the double-decker flyover must be prepared.

Also, in order to solve the traffic dilemma at Shastrinagar Chowk, a flyover and grade separator will be constructed through the Pune Municipal Corporation and the tender process will be carried out immediately.

There was also a discussion about the stalled Shivne-Kharadi road. Ajit Pawar gave instructions to the municipal officials that the land acquisition process should be completed immediately and the work of this road should be completed in order to make this road open immediately.

Pawar also suggested in the meeting that the PMC Additional Commissioner should go and inspect the place and take action regarding the construction of alternative roads from Santnagar, Five Nine Chowk to Dhanori, Vishrantwadi.
