Dr. Anil Ramod, the Additional Divisional Commissioner of the Revenue Department in Pune, has been suspended after his recent arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on June 9.

The arrest was made in connection with a bribery case involving a sum of Rs 8 lakh. Currently, Ramod is being held at Yerawada Jail.

The suspension order includes strict conditions for Ramod, prohibiting him from leaving the Pune headquarters and engaging in any private job or business. Additionally, he is not allowed to leave the city of Pune without prior permission from the Divisional Commissioner. The suspension will remain in effect until further notice.

Ramod’s arrest stemmed from his acceptance of a bribe of Rs 8 lakh in relation to a land transaction along the Pune-Solapur highway. After his arrest on June 9, he was presented before the Pune Special Court and subsequently placed in CBI custody until June 13.

Following the conclusion of his CBI custody, Ramod was transferred to Yerawada Jail in Pune. During this time, the CBI conducted raids on his residences in Baner and Nanded, leading to the seizure of cash and unaccounted assets amounting to approximately Rs 6 crore. This development caused significant upheaval. Consequently, the proposal for Ramod’s suspension was submitted to the state government, which has now granted approval, resulting in his suspension until further orders.
