Pune’s public transportation faced a momentary disruption as bus drivers affiliated with a private contractors’ firm working for Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) initiated a strike during the morning hours on Friday. Despite the brief disruption caused by the strike, authorities promptly rallied to restore bus operations on track.

Sachindra Pratap Singh, the Chairman and Managing Director of PMPML, along with Nitin Narvekar, the Joint Managing Director of PMPML, expressed their appreciation for the drivers and staff members who dedicatedly resumed their duties, even on the customary weekly holiday. The bus services offered by PMPML stand as a vital lifeline for the general populace, rendering many heavily reliant on their efficiency. The unyielding efforts displayed during this situation further underscore PMPML’s unwavering commitment to ensuring seamless passenger service, even in the face of disruptions stemming from certain private bus contractors’ drivers.

Simultaneously, exhaustive discussions are in progress between the PMPML administration and the concerned contractors and officials to mediate the resolution of the ongoing strike. PMPML has assuaged concerns by assuring the public that any potential delays in bus schedules or related matters will be addressed effectively.
