The Shivajinagar Police have uncovered a major drug distribution racket in the city, seizing illegal narcotic tablets worth approximately ₹3.38 lakh during a raid near Deendayal Hospital.

Acting on suspicion, police intercepted a tempo in the area and recovered a large quantity of banned “Banta” tablets. During the investigation, officials revealed a disturbing trend the tablets were allegedly being crushed into powder and mixed with the popular “Fulchand” paan before being sold.

Police warned that this method of consumption poses a serious risk, particularly among youth, as it could lead to increased addiction.

One accused has been detained in connection with the case, and further investigation is underway to identify other individuals involved in the racket. Authorities are probing whether a larger network is operating behind the distribution of these narcotic substances.
