A man was held for assaulting a traffic police constable in Hadapsar on Saturday evening. The incident occurred at Raskar Chowk around 6:30 PM and has raised concerns about public safety.

According to authorities, traffic police constable Raju Pawar was managing traffic when he noticed the accused throwing stones at a senior citizen. Upon intervening, Pawar faced verbal abuse and was physically attacked by the man.

Traffic Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Amol Zende stated, “The accused was detained by local police, and his relatives later claimed that he is mentally disturbed.”

The accused, a resident of Delhi, was visiting Pune with his family for personal reasons. His family provided documents supporting their claim of his mental health issues.
