A Shivshahi bus driver, under the influence of alcohol, hit a car at the Golibar Maidan Chowk. Following the accident, there was a dispute between the bus driver and the car driver. The bus driver is identified as Mahesh Shivaji Pund (32, resident of Mahalaxmi Hivareta, Nevasa, Dist. Nagar), was arrested by the Wanwadi police. The complaint was filed by car driver, Ram Madhukar Chite (35, resident of Pimpli Gavhare, Tal. Pachora, Dist. Jalgaon).

Pund is a driver at the Pimpri-Chinchwad depot. On Wednesday morning, he was heading to Hyderabad with passengers when his ST bus experienced a malfunction. He then took the bus to the Swargate depot for repairs. With 13 passengers on board, the bus collided with a car at Golibar Maidan. A dispute ensued between Pund and the car driver, leading to Pund’s arrest by the police. A medical examination at Sassoon Hospital revealed that Pund was intoxicated. A case has been filed against Pund for driving under the influence of alcohol and endangering passengers’ lives. The Wanwadi police are investigating the matter.
