Pune : In a tragic incident, an engineering student drowned while two others were rescued from Jadhavwadi dam near Talegaon in Pune district. The incident occurred when a group of six students went for a swim in the dam on Tuesday evening.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) was alerted immediately, and a team rushed to the spot for rescue operations. After an extensive search, the NDRF team was able to rescue two students from the water. Unfortunately, one student, identified as 21-year-old Aditya Sharad Rahane, could not be saved and was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

The deceased student was pursuing an engineering course at Nutan Engineering College in Maval area of the Pune district. His family has been informed of the tragic incident, and his body has been sent for post-mortem examination.

Following the incident, the authorities have urged people to take precautions while visiting dams and other water bodies. The presence of warning signs and lifeguards should not be ignored, and people should avoid entering the water during monsoon season or when the water levels are high.
