Pune Experiences Fluctuating Weather: IMD Forecasts Rise in Temperatures with Daytime Heat and Cooler Nights
Pune, January 25, 2025 — The city has experienced a drop in minimum temperatures over the past few days, but the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a rise in both minimum and maximum temperatures in the coming days.
Recent weather patterns in the region have been highly variable, leading to fluctuations in temperature. This has resulted in alternating periods of cooler and warmer conditions, causing discomfort among residents. On Friday, January 24, Pune recorded a minimum temperature of 14.2°C, with the maximum temperature reaching 33°C. The rise in daytime temperatures has caused people to feel the warmth of the sun, even in the winter season.
Over the past week, the city and surrounding areas have seen a mix of warm days and cool nights, with the minimum temperature fluctuating by one to two degrees Celsius daily. The unpredictable weather patterns have left residents navigating between summer-like daytime heat and cooler nighttime temperatures.
In the National Defence Academy (NDA) area, a maximum temperature of 35°C was recorded on Friday, contributing to increased heat and humidity. The IMD has forecasted dry weather conditions across the state for the next four to five days, with a slight rise in maximum temperatures expected in regions such as Konkan, central Maharashtra, and Marathwada. However, there will be little change in maximum temperatures in Vidarbha.
Looking ahead, the minimum temperature in Pune is expected to remain around 14°C on Saturday, January 25. Skies will be mostly clear with some light fog in the morning. By Tuesday, January 28, the minimum temperature is projected to rise to 15°C, with clear skies and light morning fog continuing.
As the weather continues to fluctuate, residents are advised to stay prepared for varying conditions, with daytime warmth and cooler nights likely to persist.
