With ‘Athletes Are Mad’, Ira not only made her professional directorial debut but also took on the mantle of producer, pouring her heart and soul into a story that is deeply personal.

The most daunting challenge Ira faced was battling unpredictable weather conditions during filming, which threatened to derail production on multiple occasions. “It was a rollercoaster—from hope to despair and back,” she shares.
Despite the odds, Ira’s unwavering determination and what she jokingly refers to as her “madness” to make this film paid off spectacularly. The final product has been praised for its technical finesse, powerful storytelling, and emotional depth—qualities rarely seen in a debut film.
