Pune: FIR Filed After Mob Of 100–150 Attacks Youths Near Bapdev Ghat During Iftar
Pune, March 14, 2026:
An FIR has been registered at Saswad Police Station following an alleged attack on a group of youths near Bapdev Ghat during Iftar time on March 13.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred between 6:30 pm and 6:45 pm when the complainant and his friends had stopped near a hotel in a village close to Bapdev Ghat while travelling towards Pune.
The FIR states that a group of nearly 100 to 150 unidentified persons gathered at the location, allegedly began abusing the youths and later attacked them with sticks, rods, and other objects, leaving several of them injured.
The victims reportedly fled the spot to protect themselves and later approached Saswad Police Station, where the complaint was formally registered shortly after midnight on March 14.
Police have registered the case under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including Sections 118(1), 190, 191(2), 191(3), 351(2), and 352, along with relevant provisions of the Arms Act and the Maharashtra Police Act.
The investigation is being conducted by Police Inspector Kumar Ramchandra Kadam. Authorities said efforts are underway to identify the accused and take further legal action in the case.
