Pune: Fire Breaks Out At Pre-School In Undri; Alert Residents Avert Major Tragedy
Pune, July 9, 2026: A major tragedy was averted after a fire broke out at a pre-school and daycare centre located in Morning Dew society in Undri, reportedly due to an inverter catching fire.
According to preliminary information, alert residents and the society’s security personnel noticed the fire and acted swiftly to contain the flames before they spread further. The fire brigade was immediately informed and rushed to the spot.
All children inside the pre-school were safely evacuated and escorted to a nearby resident’s parking area, where they were kept safe until the situation was brought under control. No injuries have been reported.
When Pune Pulse spoke to the fire department officials they informed that the school doesn’t have Fire NOC and was running without the authorised formalities by the civic body.
The incident has raised concerns over fire safety measures at the facility, as the pre-school and daycare reportedly does not have a dedicated emergency fire exit.
The Undri Police have been informed about the incident, and further details are awaited. The exact cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are yet to be officially confirmed.
