Pune : Five housing societies in Wanowrie hold grand celebration of Christmas

The Christmas Program was organized by St. Paul’s Community of St. Patrick’s Cathedral Pune which comprises of Catholic Christians from 5 different societies. The Office Bearers of 5 neighbouring Societies in Wanowrie such as Dayanand Garden, Kumar Parag, Silver Valley Shivanand Garden and Om Tulsi Societies, were specially invited and felicitated for the excellent job they do with utter dedication and passion to serve their residents.This Christmas was celebrated in a unique manner on the 18th of December this year.

There were approximately 270 persons of all faiths attended. This was a great opportunity to people of all religions to exhibit living life in harmony.

The Asstt. Parish Priest, Fr. Jason Chettiar gave a brief message on on the love and life of Jesus to all attendees.

Participants ranging from 4 years to 74 years took part in the dances, carol singing and the Nativity Play which was enacted in a never seen before way.

The message of the play spanned centuries beginning from the birth of Christ up until the present day.

Christmas is commonly associated with gifts, decorations, singing, dancing, Santa Claus , Christmas trees, and the traditional Christmas delicacies.

However, there is a deeper message too; Jesus was born in a humble manger, lived his life simply and  throughout his life taught that true joy comes from sharing especially with those of our brethren who are weak, destitute and less fortunate than we are.

The event was attended by people of all faiths and deeply appreciated and enjoyed by adults and children alike. It was held at Silver Valley society open space.
