Pune forest division nabs eight for smuggling tiger and leopard skin

As per the information by Wildlife Crime Control Bureau Mumbai and Pune forest ranger Bhambhurda and Forest officials led a trap and nabbed three smugglers from Warje and five smugglers from Mauje Saswad Bus stop and seized skin of leopard and tiger. 
Aniket Bhoite, Sandeep Lakade, Dhanaji Kale are the names of people who were nabbed selling skin of leopard. The officials seized skin of one leopard, one two wheeler and filed a case against under Wildlife Conservation Act 1972. 


The action was taken under the leadership of Rahul Patil, deputy Conservator of Forest alongwith Mayur Bothe, Ashutosh Shendge, range forest officer Pradeep Sankpal, forest staff Vaibhav Babar, Suresh Bale, Rameshwar Telangre, Mahadev Chavan, Raees Momin, Parmeshwar Waghmare, Yogesh Tikole, Amol Sathe, Amol Gurav, and others. 


Pune division on September 15 was informed that unidentified people were to sell off tiger and leopard skin at Warje and Saswad respectively. The staff appeared as a dummy customer and nabbed the culprits and seized skin of one tiger and one leopard, one Tata Indica, one Tata Tiago. Case has been filed under Wildlife Conservation Act 1972 and further investigation in the case is being carried by Pradeep Sankpal, range forest officer and six other officials. 
  The forest officials also informed that if there is any suspicious activity around the citizens should immediately inform on the helpline number 1926 Hello Forest. Rahul Patil, deputy Conservator of Forests said, “Citizens should quickly inform on the helpline number 1926.”
