The service is expected to significantly enhance ease of travel for students, professionals, and tourists, while also boosting tourism, trade, and cultural exchange between Western India and the Northeast.

This initiative reflects the continued efforts of the Airports Authority of India to strengthen regional connectivity and improve access to underserved regions.

Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Murlidhar Mohol, stated, “The commencement of direct flights between Pune and Bagdogra is a significant step towards enhancing regional connectivity. This route will not only promote tourism and trade but also bring the Northeast closer to Western India, fostering stronger economic and cultural integration.”

The inaugural event also featured the ceremonial handover of boarding passes to passengers, marking Pune’s first direct air link to Bagdogra.

The Pune–Bagdogra route is poised to serve as a vital bridge of opportunity, growth, and national integration.
