Pune: Hadapsar Police Bust Illegal Drug Injection Racket, Seize 210 Bottles Valued At ₹1.5 Lakh
Pune | February 25, 2026: The Hadapsar Police Station has arrested a youth accused of illegally selling intoxicating drug injections that trap young people into addiction. Police seized 210 bottles of narcotic injections along with a two-wheeler, with the total value of the seized material estimated at ₹1.5 lakh. The court has remanded the accused to three days of police custody.
The arrested accused has been identified as Gnyanraj Pandurang Tikmane (26), a resident of Shewalwadi, Hadapsar, Pune. According to Senior Police Inspector Sanjay Mogle, the action was taken after police officials noticed a man moving suspiciously near the DSK showroom area in Amanora, Hadapsar. When questioned, the suspect gave evasive answers, prompting a detailed investigation.
Upon conducting a search, police recovered 200+ bottles of intoxicating injections from his possession. Further investigation revealed that the accused was illegally selling these injections without any license or authorization. A case has been registered at Hadapsar Police Station, and further investigation is underway under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Sanjay Mogle.
Police sources stated that due to the growing youth population in the Hadapsar area, odorless and fast-acting intoxicant injections have become a dangerous trend. These injections are easily available for ₹500 to ₹600, making them highly attractive to youngsters. The easy availability of such substances through criminal networks has increased addiction risks among the youth.
As part of a strict anti-narcotics campaign ordered by the Police Commissioner, a trap was laid in Malwadi, leading to this successful action (operation). Police revealed that while these injections are legally available for around ₹400 with a medical prescription, the accused was selling them to youths for ₹800 per bottle, pushing them deeper into addiction.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr Rajkumar Shinde stated:
“We will take this investigation to the root of the network and take strict action against everyone involved in this illegal drug trade.”
Further investigation in the case is ongoing.
