Pune, September 2 : Heavy rains pounded Pune city overnight on Friday evening and on Saturday, causing waterlogging in many areas. Heavy water logging was observed on the Bawadi Road, Wagholi, near the MSEDCL Wagholi Branch. Frustrated residents started raising concerns over not being able to access roads properly and open wires lying freely on roads during the monsoon.

Rajesh Kandari, Majestique Manhattan Society, Resident, added, ”We are facing these issues of water logging every year during the monsoon. Seven scooters in the area were submerged in water and were unable to restart. Open wires are seen lying freely on the ground, posing a high risk of electrocution.”

Rakesh Kandari, Majestique Manhattan Society, Resident, added, ”Due to water logging, pedestrians were not able to walk properly on the road. Excessive water logging caused traffic congestion on Bawadi Road, making it difficult for school buses to move. Apart from that, we faced power outages from 11 am to 7 pm in the evening.”

Hitesh Negi, Majestique Manhattan Society, Resident, added, ”Tremendous issues were faced due to water logging. On my way to the office, I was not able to walk; I literally had to remove my shoes and walk.”
