Pune: Horizons Society At Wakad Celebrates Completion Of 125 kWp Rooftop Solar Power Project

Pune, May 2, 2025 – Marking a significant milestone towards sustainability, Horizons society at Wakad proudly inaugurated its 125 kWp Rooftop Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant on Maharashtra Day, May 1, 2025. This landmark green initiative was inaugurated by esteemed residents Sandip Yeole and  Punam Yeole amidst enthusiastic participation from all society members.

The rooftop solar project is a comprehensive green initiative, making Horizons at Wakad Society a fully sustainable community by powering their common utilities, Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), Organic Waste Converter (OWC), Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations, and all common amenities using clean solar energy.

Capacity: 125 kWp

Expected Monthly Savings: Approximately ₹3 lakhs

Solar Panels: Premier Energies, A Grade, 540Wp Monoperc Half-Cut Bifacial Solar panels with optimizers, featuring a 12-year manufacturing defect warranty and a 25-year performance warranty

Inverter System: SolarEdge inverter system with a 12-year warranty on inverters and a 25-year warranty on optimizers

Mounting Structure: Hot-Dip Galvanized Iron (HDGI) structure with a 10-year structural warranty and a 25-year design warranty

Enhanced Safety: Additional safety steel wires installed along with structural panels for superior protection and stability against thunderstorms and strong winds

Lightning Protection: Lightning arrestors installed on each building

Earthing System: Separate earthing systems for AC, DC, and lightning protection, featuring copper chemical earthing pits installed 10 feet below ground level

Metering Systems: Multifunctional Metering (MFM) systems providing real-time insights into power generation beyond standard Net and Generation meters

Real-time Monitoring: Fiber-optic internet connectivity enabling real-time monitoring and access to solar power generation via an online portal

Panel Monitoring: Comprehensive panel-to-panel online monitoring ensuring uninterrupted system operation

Security Surveillance: 24/7 CCTV online surveillance covering panels, inverters, and all setup areas, ensuring maximum security and safety

The design, supply, installation, and comprehensive five-year generation warranty and maintenance services were efficiently executed by SolarSquare, recognized for their high-quality workmanship and innovative approach, making this project exemplary and a role model for other housing societies.

This visionary initiative, led tirelessly by society resident and Expert Sandip Yeole, was strongly supported by the managing committee.
