Pune : Horrific Accident on Senapati Bapat Road; Biker Dead; Person Booked Negligent Driving

Pune: In a horrifying incident, a car collided fiercely with a bike on Tuesday at the Senapati Bapat Road in which the biker died.
As per information, the accused identified as Akshat Tarun Vij and his friends went to a restaurant for a party. On their way back, the accused and his friends got into an accident when they were at the Chowk of Hotel JW Marriot on Senapati Bapat Road. The accused’s car crashed into the vehicle of a motorcyclist who was travelling on a motorcycle. The motorcyclist sustained critical injuries in the crash and passed away.
The prima facie investigation suggests that the driver of the car was high on alcohol at the time of the accident.
The accused is a native of Delhi, who is currently residing in Pune to pursue Bachelors in Computer Applications (BCA). The deceased, who was employed as a security guard, was en route to his residence after concluding his shift when the incident occurred.
Chatushrungi Police have registered a case under Sections 304 (a), 279 & 427 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Sections 184, 119/177 & 134 (a) of the Motor Vehicle Act. Further investigation is underway.
