Pune Hosts Vibrant Photo Exhibition to Celebrate World Photography Day
A vibrant exhibition of several photographs was organized by ‘The Photographic Society of Pune’ on World Photography Day. It is observed on 19th August every year.
Speaking to Pune Pulse, Sudhanwa Joglekar, Senior Member of The Photographic Society of Pune, said “We organize exhibitions related to photographs every year on World Photography Day. We have different themes for exhibitions. This year’s theme is Landscape. There were around 120 photographs from various photographers put up in this exhibition. Along with these, several photos from a contest, which we organize on our organization’s anniversary i.e. 12th August, was also been put up here.”
“Due to the ever-evolving technologies in camera & photography, the style, vibrancy & clarity has also evolved over several years. Also, the field of photography is also growing. It is very good & satisfying to see this.” He further added.
Col (Retd) Satish Mallik, Member of The Photographic Society of Pune, said “I am avid lover of photography. Three photos of mine have been put up in this exhibition. Approximately, photos of 40 photographers have been showcased in the exhibition. For people looking to enter the world of professional photography, skill & art are the utmost important things. Now-a-days, there are a lot of mediocre photographers in the society. So, if a photography enthusiast wants to make a career in the field, things like skills, originality etc are very important. If people have these, then the sky is the limit for them to become renowned photographers.”
The colorful photo exhibition was held at Balgandharva Art Gallery.
