Pune : Housing Society in Kondhwa Yeolewadi Ward Fined Rs 1 Lakh For Draining Sewage Water Flow On Road

In a significant development, the Kondhwa Yeolewadi ward office of Pune Municipal Corporation took strict action against a housing society by imposing a hefty fine of Rs 1 lakh for recklessly letting drainage water onto the road. The penalty was enforced on Thursday after the matter was brought to the attention of the ward office by concerned residents.

Upon investigation, it was revealed that the Rajgruha Housing Society, located within the Kondhwa Yeolewadi Ward office limits, was directly pumping sewage water onto the road. This negligent act resulted in the flow of contaminated water into neighboring houses, posing severe health risks to the residents.

Taking swift action, the Assistant Commissioner of the Kondhwa-Yeolewadi ward office collected the imposed fine from the housing society. Additionally, strict measures have been put in place to prevent any further disposal of foul-smelling substances in the area. Vikas More, the Sanitary Inspector affirmed that stringent actions would be taken to ensure the cleanliness of the vicinity.

Furthermore, a case has been registered against the housing society under relevant sections of the Maharashtra Municipal Corporation Act 1949, including Chapter 14, sections 3 (A) and 4, as well as Section 379, for causing nuisance and creating a public disturbance.
